TÜBİTAK – CNPq (Brazil) Bilateral Cooperation Call & Partner Search
A new bilateral cooperation call has been launched under the TÜBİTAK 1071 Program with the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) of Brazil. The call supports joint project proposals submitted by researchers in Türkiye and Brazil with funding up to 2,400,000 TL.

General proposals are accepted in the following fields:
- ICT: MEMS/NEMS and Semiconductor Technologies, Artificial Intelligence.
- Environment: Decarbonisation in Energy-Intensive Sectors (Cement & Steel), Climate Change, Environment & Biodiversity, Polar Research.
- Physics: Surfaces & Interfaces, Statistical & Nonlinear Physics, Acoustics & Ultrasonics, Instrumentation, Nuclear & High Energy Physics.
- Food & Agriculture: Green & Sustainable Agriculture, Plant Protection, Animal Nutrition & Biotechnology.
- Health: Epidemiology & Public Health, Medical Diagnostic Kits.

🤝 Call Topic for Decarbonisation in Energy Intensive Sectors
Within the scope of this call, academic partners from Türkiye are sought for project collaboration in the specified thematic area. The proposed collaboration focuses on reducing the environmental footprint of the energy-intensive cement and ceramic industries.
Expected Project Scope and Methodology: Potential partners are expected to develop proposals that include the following approaches:
- Life Cycle Assessment (LCA): Utilizing Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as a quantitative tool to evaluate the environmental sustainability of ceramic and cement products.
- Process Improvement: Identifying key production hotspots and developing improvement scenarios to mitigate environmental impact.
- Feasibility Analysis: Conducting not only environmental analysis but also assessing the technical feasibility and economic viability (e.g., LCC) of the proposed low-carbon solutions.
Targeted Expertise:
- Materials Science and Engineering (Cementitious or ceramic materials).
- Industrial Decarbonisation and Low-carbon Technologies.
- Life Cycle Impact Assessment (LCIA) and Environmental Performance Evaluation.
