TÜBİTAK has launched the Science and Society Support Programmes Project Incentive Awards to increase the visibility of high-quality outputs generated by projects supported by the Science and Society Directorate, strengthen their societal impact and promote successful practices.

Applications may be submitted by host institutions/organisations for projects that received support within the last three years and were successfully completed, with their project status indicated as "completed". The acceptance date of the project's final report will be used to calculate the three-year eligibility period.

📅 Call Timeline

• Application period: 21 September 2026 - 29 September 2026
• Application deadline: 29 September 2026, 17:30
• Evaluation results: October 2026
• Award ceremony: Planned to take place during the 1st Türkiye Science Communication Summit, to be held on 14-15 October 2026 and hosted by Middle East Technical University (METU).

✅ Eligibility

• Applications must be submitted on behalf of the host institution/organisation for projects supported and successfully completed within the last three years.
• The application may be submitted by the coordinator of the nominated project or by a staff member of the host institution/organisation.
• The applicant must be a Turkish citizen residing in Türkiye.
• The applicant must be employed as full-time permanent staff at a public institution/organisation, university, municipality, or a science centre operated by a public or municipality-affiliated organisation.
• The applicant must be actively employed by the host institution/organisation where the nominated project was implemented and be authorised to submit an application on behalf of the institution.
• Each institution may submit only one application under each award category.

📂 Award Scope and Categories

• 4004 - Nature Practices Incentive Award
• 4005 - Innovative Education Practices Incentive Award
• 4006 - Science Fair Incentive Award
• 4007 - Science Festival Incentive Award
• 4008 - Inclusive Approach Incentive Award

Important: No nomination applications will be accepted for the 4006 Science Fair Incentive Award. Schools to receive an award under this category will be determined through an evaluation based on criteria including the number of science fairs organised, evaluation scores, observer reports and data from the fair results system, subject to approval by the TÜBİTAK Science and Society Directorate.

💶 Award Amounts

For each award category, the following cash awards will be granted to the host institution/organisation:

• First Prize: TRY 100,000
• Second Prize: TRY 50,000
• Third Prize: TRY 30,000
• The award will be transferred by TÜBİTAK to the host institution/organisation as a grant.
• Project coordinators of awarded projects will also receive a certificate of achievement.

📝 Application and Evaluation Process

• Applications must be submitted online through the Science and Society Project Application System (PBS).
• All applicants must have an account in the Researcher Information System (ARBİS).
• All required information and documents must be uploaded electronically. No printed documents should be submitted to TÜBİTAK.
• Incomplete applications or applications not finalised by the deadline will not be considered.
• At the first evaluation stage, proposals will be assessed based on impact on the target group, wider impact and reach, sustainability, and institutional and academic contribution.
• Finalists will present their project outputs to the jury online, in person or through a video recording.
• The second-stage evaluation will consider content and impact, sustainability and dissemination, and presentation quality.
