The 2026 applications have been opened for the National Fellowships for Young Women in Science, the Turkish national extension of the international “For Women in Science” programme carried out in partnership with UNESCO and L’ORÉAL.

Implemented in collaboration with the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO and L’ORÉAL Türkiye, the programme aims to support the scientific work of young women researchers in Türkiye and increase the visibility of women in science. Under the 2026 programme, four young women researchers working in the fields of Life and Environmental Sciences and Physical Sciences will each receive a one-year fellowship worth 400,000 TL. The official programme page also lists 4 endowments, each worth 400,000 TL, with applications closing on 2 June 2026 and final selection on 31 August 2026.

Research fields:

• Life and Environmental Sciences: Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics and Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biotechnology, Ecology, Pharmacology, Physiology, Bioinformatics including Health Informatics, Neurobiology, Biomedical studies and Artificial Intelligence studies in Biology

• Physical Sciences: Basic Sciences, excluding life sciences, and Engineering; Particulate Materials, Polymers, Glasses and Ceramics, Composites, Biomaterials, Nanomaterials, Specially Designed Surfaces, Photonic Crystals, Condensed Matter Physics and Statistical Physics

✅ Eligibility

• Applicants must be citizens of the Republic of Türkiye.
• Applicants must be under 40 years of age as of 1 January 2026.
• • Applicants must have completed their doctoral degree.
• Research projects must fall under the fields of Life and Environmental Sciences or Physical Sciences.
• The project duration must not exceed 1 year.
• The project must be implemented in Türkiye.
