Within the scope of the “Türkiye Technical Assistance Project under Horizon Europe”, the WIDERA–Twinning Calls General Information Training will be held on 19 January 2026 in Istanbul, in a hybrid format (on-site and online).

🔎 About WIDERA–Twinning Calls

• Twinning is a strategic funding instrument under the Horizon Europe Programme aiming to strengthen scientific excellence and research capacity of research organisations located in Widening countries.
• The calls target the establishment of consortia in which a coordinating institution from a Widening country collaborates with at least two internationally leading research organisations from two different EU Member States or Associated Countries.
• The calls aim to enhance research excellence, strengthen international visibility and reputation of institutions, and expand access to strong European research networks.
• Twinning projects support the development of administrative and research management capacities through mobility, training, and joint research-related activities.
• The calls provide an important opportunity for research organisations in Türkiye to strengthen their integration into the European Research Area (ERA).

🎯 About WIDERA–Twinning Calls General Information Training

• The training will comprehensively cover the objectives, eligibility conditions, and proposal preparation strategies of the Twinning calls.
• Good practice examples from successful Twinning projects will be shared, focusing on activities such as mobility, training, networking, and research management capacity building.
• The training is designed for research organisations seeking to become familiar with the Twinning mechanism and to develop strategic collaborations with “leading institutions” and “advanced partners” across Europe.
• Participants are expected to discuss potential Twinning project ideas with their European partners following the training and to further develop these ideas until the call deadline.
• The training will be delivered in an interactive format, offering opportunities for engagement with thematic experts and TÜBİTAK-National Contact Points (NCPs) for WIDERA.
