Applications are now open for the 2026 TÜSEB Aziz Sancar Science, TÜSEB Service and TÜSEB Incentive Awards, presented by the Health Institutes of Türkiye (TÜSEB) to recognise outstanding scientific achievements, pioneering service and promising researchers in health sciences and technologies.

🔎 Award Categories and Scope

TÜSEB Aziz Sancar Science Award

The Award recognises living scientists whose work has made significant contributions to health sciences and technologies at the international level and has generated substantial scientific impact.

TÜSEB Service Award

The Award recognises living scientists who have rendered outstanding service to the advancement of health sciences and technologies and played a pioneering role in research and education related to preventive medicine, diagnosis and treatment, medical care and public health.

TÜSEB Incentive Award

The Award recognises early-career scientists who have demonstrated the capacity to make significant international contributions to health sciences and technologies and the potential to conduct outstanding, high-impact scientific research.

💰 Award Amounts

• TÜSEB Aziz Sancar Science Award: A total of TRY 500,000
  The Award may be presented to up to two recipients each year. Where two recipients are selected, the total award amount is divided equally between them.

• TÜSEB Service Award: TRY 250,000
  The Award is presented to one recipient each year.

• TÜSEB Incentive Award: TRY 100,000 per recipient
  The Award may be presented to up to five recipients each year.

The date of the award ceremony will be communicated separately to the successful candidates.

✅ Who May Apply or Be Nominated?

Individual Applications

• Individual applications are accepted for the TÜSEB Aziz Sancar Science Award.

• Individual applications are accepted for the TÜSEB Incentive Award.

• Individual applications are not accepted for the TÜSEB Service Award; candidates must be nominated by an eligible individual or institution.

Nominations

Candidates who meet the conditions of the relevant award may be nominated by:

• Recipients of a TÜBA Science or Service Award,

• Recipients of a TÜBİTAK Science or Service Award,

• University rectorates, and

• Public- or private-sector institutions and organisations operating in scientific and technological fields.

Institutional nominations must be submitted through TBYS by an authorised senior official of the nominating institution.

👤 Award-Specific Requirements

TÜSEB Aziz Sancar Science Award

Candidates must provide information and supporting documentation for the five most significant publications underlying their nomination or application. The selected publications are expected to have been published in Q1 or Q2 journals, with the candidate serving as a lead, corresponding or senior author.

TÜSEB Incentive Award

Candidates must not be older than 40 as of the first day of the award year.

At least one of the candidate’s five selected publications must have been published in a Q1 or Q2 journal, with the candidate serving as a lead, corresponding or senior author.

TÜSEB Service Award

Candidates are assessed under the following principal areas:

• Leadership and innovation,

• Institutional contribution,

• Human-resource development and education, and

• Societal and national impact.

The assessment considers factors such as introducing new diagnostic or treatment methods to Türkiye, leading the establishment of clinics, centres or programmes, training health professionals and researchers, improving healthcare services and generating sustainable contributions to public health.

📝 Important Notes

• All applications must be submitted electronically through TBYS.

• Applicants are not required to submit printed files or copies on a USB drive or CD.

• The application document must be electronically signed and submitted within the specified period, with all required signatures from the candidate and the relevant institutional authority.

• Individual applications and nominations are accepted for the TÜSEB Aziz Sancar Science Award and the TÜSEB Incentive Award.

• Applications for the TÜSEB Service Award may only be submitted through nomination.

• The same person may apply or be nominated for the Aziz Sancar Science Award or the Incentive Award no more than three times.

• The same person may be nominated for the Service Award no more than three times.

• Members of the TÜSEB Executive Board and Scientific Boards, TÜSEB employees and scientists involved in the evaluation of TÜSEB Awards are not eligible to apply or be nominated during their term of office and for two years following the end of their duties.

• Applicants and nominating institutions should carefully review the relevant award call, assessment criteria, Awards Regulations and Application Document Checklist before submission.
