The application process for the “TÜBA-TEKNOFEST Doctoral Science Awards,” organized annually by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA), has officially begun for 2026. As a stakeholder of TEKNOFEST, the world’s largest aerospace and technology festival, TÜBA continues to recognize and reward outstanding doctoral theses produced in Türkiye with a focus on technology and design.

🔬 Award Categories

Awards are granted in four main categories following a scientific peer-review process:

• Basic Sciences
• Health and Life Sciences
• Social Sciences and Humanities
• Engineering and Applied Sciences

Note: This year, the "Fuat Sezgin History of Science Doctoral Award" will be presented for the first time by the decision of the Academy Council.

✅ Eligibility & Application Criteria

• Thesis Defense Date: Applicants must have defended their doctoral theses in 2024 or 2025.
• Thesis Thematic Areas: Theses focusing on “Technology and Design, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Autonomous Systems, Robotics and Mechatronic Systems, Modeling and Simulation Technologies, Energy, Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Technologies, Air, Space, and Unmanned Underwater Systems, Information and Communication Technologies, Cybersecurity, Education, Health, Agriculture and Ecology Technologies, Biotechnology, and National Technology Initiative's International Relations, Development, and Security Policies” are eligible to apply.
• Re-application: Candidates who applied in previous years may re-apply, provided they document significant performance improvements such as new publications, patents, or products related to their thesis.

💶 Award Scope

The 2026 award amounts for each category, to be presented by the President of the Republic of Türkiye, are as follows:

• First Prize: TRY 200.000
• Second Prize: TRY 150.000
• Third Prize: TRY 100.000

Applications can be submitted individually or through institutional nominations by TÜBA members, YÖK, TÜBİTAK, TÜSEB, or University Rectors.
