Support from TÜSEB A4 Project Support Program for Our University!

The project led by Prof. Arzu Çelik Fuss, a faculty member at our Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, has been awarded funding under the TÜSEB Urgent Research and Development Projects Support Program.

The project, titled "Pharmacological and Genetic Dissection of the Septin–HDAC6–Tau Axis Regulating Microtubule Dynamics in a Drosophila Model of Alzheimer’s Disease", will be conducted over a 12-month research timeline.

Within the scope of the project, cytoskeletal abnormalities, synaptic dysfunction, and abnormal Tau accumulation in the presynaptic region—which characterize Alzheimer's as a common neurodegenerative disorder—will be investigated. By utilizing septin-deletion transgenic Drosophila (fruit fly) lines and pharmacological modulations, the project aims to elucidate the mechanistic role of septin complexes within the microtubule–HDAC6–Tau axis.

We congratulate our esteemed faculty member on this significant achievement and wish her continued success in her research.
