The project titled “WETCARB: Wetland Ecosystem Tool for Carbon Accounting” coordinated by Prof. Dr. Fatma Öztürk from the Institute of Environmental Sciences, has been awarded funding under the PRIMA Program Section 1 call.

Funded under the "Farming Systems in the Nexus" topic, the project aims to develop sustainable farming systems for the conservation of wetlands in the Mediterranean region, as well as for monitoring and reducing carbon emissions in these areas. A strong international consortium involving leading institutions from Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Greece, Tunisia, and Italy will conduct the study under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Fatma Öztürk.
