Celebrating 30 Years of MSCA: Boğaziçi University Hosted MSCA 2026 Calls Conference Day

Organised in collaboration between Boğaziçi University and TÜBİTAK as part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) 30th-anniversary celebrations, the ‘MSCA 2026 Calls Conference’ took place on 16 April 2026 in the Albert Long Hall at Boğaziçi University’s South Campus.

The programme commenced with an opening address by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Naci İnci, Rector of Boğaziçi University. Following the opening, Audrey Arfi, a representative of the European Commission’s Research Executive Agency, shared the latest information on MSCA calls and key details regarding the application process with the participants.

Focusing on MSCA programmes that support researchers’ career development and international mobility, the event covered in detail the following schemes: Postdoctoral Fellowships, Doctoral Networks, Staff Exchanges, COFUND, and MSCA and Citizens.

Faculty member of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Boğaziçi University and recipient of the 2026 MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship, Dr. Koray Malcı, delivered a presentation focusing on the criteria of excellence, impact and quality of implementation required to prepare a successful MSCA application.

During the session titled “MSCA from the Evaluator’s Perspective”, Prof. Dr Ali Emre Pusane from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Boğaziçi University and Prof. Dr Aslı Baysal from the Department of Chemistry at Istanbul Technical University shared their experiences regarding the evaluation processes.

Additionally, within the scope of the programme, comprehensive presentations on MSCA application and evaluation processes were delivered by TÜBİTAK MSCA National Contact Point experts and evaluators, including Tuğba Arslan Kantarcıoğlu, Şeyma Sayımlar, and Burcu Bahar Göğüş Doğan.

With strong participation from academics across Türkiye, the event aims to enhance the involvement of researchers in international research programmes and to contribute to the development of scientific collaborations.
