Boğaziçi University Researchers Achieve Significant Success in the MSCA-PF-2025 Program!

Boğaziçi University continues to showcase its research excellence with new achievements under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA).

MSCA-Postdoctoral Fellowship Funding Assist. Prof. Koray Malcı, from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, has been awarded the prestigious MSCA-Postdoctoral Fellowship (PF). His project, titled “Intelligent Microbial Platform for Plastic Valorisation via AI-guided Synthetic Biology” (Val-PLAS), which will be conducted under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ulaş Tezel (Institute of Environmental Sciences), focuses on using synthetic biology methods and intelligent microbial platforms guided by artificial intelligence in plastic waste valorization processes.

In the same call, three of our esteemed faculty members -Assist. Prof. Emre Kuşakçı (Physics Department), Assist. Prof. Ayşegül Göğüş (Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute), and Assist. Prof. Veysel Yıldız (Department of Civil Engineering), who earned the "MSCA Seal of Excellence” by receiving a score of 85 or above, as well as our esteemed faculty member Assist. Prof. Emine Kazanç (Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics), who achieved an “MSCA Above Threshold” score, have demonstrated the international scientific excellence and quality of their research projects as evaluated by the European Commission.
