Assoc. Prof. Sema Dumanlı Oktar from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Boğaziçi University, has been awarded the “IEEE AP-S 2026 Lot Shafai Mid-Career Distinguished Achievement Award” by the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society in recognition of her internationally distinguished research contributions.

Assoc. Prof. Oktar has been recognized for her pioneering work in wireless in-body molecular sensing using biohybrid implant antennas, and for her contributions to advancing equitable access to healthcare worldwide through innovative technologies.
