PRIMA Programme 2026 Calls - Section 2
The PRIMA (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area) Programme Section 2 call for 2026 is now open. Unlike Section 1, Research and Innovation Action (RIA) projects under Section 2 are funded by the national funding agencies (TÜBİTAK for Türkiye) using their committed national funds to PRIMA. The call supports three main topics: Leveraging ecosystem functions for non-perennial watercourses (2.1.1), novel ICT monitoring systems against disease and pests (2.2.1), and empowering food value chains through context-aware digital traceability (2.3.1). Turkish research teams participating in consortia must submit a national application to TÜBİTAK under the 1071 Programme in addition to the joint international application to PRIMA.

- Stage 1 National E-signature Deadline (TÜBİTAK): 21 May 2026 (17.30)
- Stage 2 International Deadline (PRIMA): 29 September 2026 (19.00)
✅ Eligibility
- From Türkiye, higher education institutions, training and research hospitals, public institutions, and capital companies (private entities) with a trade registry certificate are eligible.
- Foundations, associations, cooperatives, and sole proprietorships are not eligible to apply.
📂 Support Scope and Duration
- Maximum project duration is 36 months.
- Up to 175,000 TL for scientific meetings/conferences, and up to 300,000 TL for partner working visits/networking. The total maximum travel allowance per partner institution is 475,000 TL.
- Consultancy and service procurement from international project partners are not supported.
💶 Funding Opportunities and Rates
- TÜBİTAK Maximum Funding Limits (excluding PTİ and Overhead):
- Max Contribution per Project: €150,000.
- Limits per Institution: €100,000 for Higher Education and Public Institutions (100% funding rate); €150,000 for Private Entities (60% for Large Enterprises, 75% for SMEs).
📌 While Project Incentive Bonus (PTİ) and Overhead (Kurum Hissesi) are excluded from the national budget request, the estimated amounts for PTİ (€415/month) and Overhead (10% of the budget excluding PTİ) must be added to the total requested budget in the international application forms.
