PRIMA Programme 2026 Calls - Section 1
The PRIMA (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area) Programme Section 1 call for 2026 is now open, supporting multi-partner international projects addressing water management, farming systems, and the agro-food value chain in the Mediterranean. Projects under Section 1 are funded directly by the European Union under Horizon Europe rules and are centrally managed by PRIMA-IS. The 2026 call will fund Innovation Actions (IA) and Coordination and Support Actions (CSA) across 4 topics: Decentralised brackish water desalination for climate-resilient agriculture (1.1.1), sustainable alternative animal feeds (1.2.1), sustainable on-site transformation of perishable agri-products (1.3.1), and institutionalising the WEFE Nexus Community of Practice (1.4.1 - CSA).
📅 Call Timeline
- Stage 1 International Submission Deadline: 15 May 2026 (13:00 CET)
- Stage 2 International Submission Deadline: 7 October 2026 (17:00 CET)
✅ Eligibility
- Eligible institutions from PRIMA Participating States forming transnational consortia can apply.
- For Section 1, applications are submitted only to the PRIMA Electronic Submission System (ESS); a separate national application to TÜBİTAK is not required.
- Proposals should adopt a Multi-Actor Approach (MAA), actively involving end-users and SMEs.
📂 Support Scope and Duration
- Projects are evaluated and funded in accordance with Horizon Europe Innovation Action (IA) rules.
💶 Funding Opportunities
- The total indicative amount allocated for each thematic area (Water, Farming, Food Value Chain) is approximately €10.8 Million.
