The European Commission has opened the two-stage call under Destination 4, "Clean Environment and Zero Pollution," within the scope of Horizon Europe Cluster 6. This call focuses on broad research topics such as the decontamination of water pollution and the bioremediation of aquatic ecosystems.

📅 Call Timeline (Two-Stage Call)

  • Call Opening Date: February 12, 2026
  • First Stage (Short Proposal) Deadline: April 16, 2026
  • Second Stage (Full Proposal) Deadline: September 23, 2026

Eligibility

  • Universities, research centers, industrial organizations, and non-governmental organizations.
  • It is mandatory to form an international consortium consisting of partners from at least 3 different countries, provided that at least one is an EU member state.
  • Expression of Interest (EoI): Stakeholders with project writing potential are expected to submit their EoI forms, prepared in English, to ncpenv@tubitak.gov.tr. Direct alignment with the "expected outcome" and "scope" sections in the call text must be taken as a basis when filling out the forms.

📂 Support Scope and Duration

  • No fixed maximum duration is defined for the projects; however, they are expected to last between 36 and 48 months.

Two-Stage Call to be Evaluated Under Support Scope:

  • HORIZON-CL6-2026-01-ZEROPOLLUTION-01-two-stage: Decontaminate and bioremediate aquatic pollution (RIA, €23.00 M, 3 Projects).

💶 Funding Amounts

  • Total Budget (For Two-Stage Calls): €23,000,000.
  • Support Per Project: An EU contribution of approximately €7M to €8M per project is envisioned.
  • Grant Rate: As it is a Research and Innovation Action (RIA), a 100% grant rate applies to all participants.
