The ERC Consolidator Grant 2026 call opened for applications on 25 September 2025. This call supports researchers who have established scientific independence and are in the process of building their own research team.

• Applicants must have successfully defended their PhD between 1 January 2014 and 31 December 2018. The eligibility period may be extended in duly documented cases.

• The call provides up to EUR 2 million in funding for a period of up to 5 years. An additional EUR 1–2 million may be requested for equipment, fieldwork, or relocation costs.

• Applications must be submitted online via the Funding & Tenders Portal.

• Scientific excellence is the sole evaluation criterion, and shortlisted Principal Investigators will be invited for an interview in the second stage.
