The European Partnership for Brain Health (EP BrainHealth) has launched its first Joint Transnational Call to support research on factors influencing brain health throughout life. Specifically focusing on neurological, mental, and sensory disorders, proposals must address at least two of the following factors: biological (genetics, epigenetics, vascular, etc.), lifestyle/social (nutrition, sleep, stress, SES, etc.), and environmental (pollution, climate change, urbanicity, etc.). Furthermore, projects must investigate these factors in the context of mechanisms, early diagnosis/prognosis, or prevention/treatment/interventions.

  • Call Launch Date: 08 January 2026
  • Pre-proposal Deadline: 10 March 2026 (16.00)
  • Full-proposal Deadline: 30 June 2026 (16.00)
  • Project Start: Early to Mid-2027

Eligibility

  • Proposals must be submitted by transnational consortia involving at least 3 partners from 3 different countries (min. 2 EU Member/Associated States).
  • Since Türkiye is considered an "underrepresented country," consortia including Turkish partners can extend up to 7 partners.
  • Universities, research organizations, hospitals, SMEs, and patient organizations are eligible. Applicants from Türkiye will be funded by TÜBİTAK (1071 Programme).

📂 Support Scope and Duration

  • Maximum 3 years.

Scope:

  • Personnel Costs: Salaries for researchers, technical staff, and scholars.
  • Travel Costs: Transport and accommodation for project meetings, fieldwork, and mandatory symposium attendance.
  • Equipment and Software: Purchase of necessary devices and software.
  • Consumables: Laboratory and research materials.
  • Service Procurement: Consultancy, analysis, and external services.

💶 Funding Opportunity

The anticipated total funding budget allocated by TÜBİTAK for researchers from Türkiye is EUR 300,000.
