5th European Code Against Cancer Info Day
In alignment with the Horizon Europe Cancer Mission and on the occasion of World Cancer Day, a webinar will be held on February 4, 2026, to launch the 5th Edition of the European Code Against Cancer (ECAC5).
Launched in all EU languages, ECAC5 brings together 14 evidence-based recommendations aimed at reducing cancer risk for the general population across the European Union. These recommendations address personal behaviors, environmental factors, and medical interventions. Beyond cancer prevention, the guidelines contribute to the prevention of other non-communicable diseases (NCDs), aim to address common misconceptions about cancer, and ensure access to reliable prevention information.
Moderated by the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE), the agenda includes:
- Welcome: European Commission.
- The Role of the European Parliament in Cancer Prevention.
- Scientific Evidence behind ECAC5: International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).
- Role of Cancer Leagues in Dissemination: Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL).
- Link between the Cancer Code and NCD Prevention: Joint Action PreventNCD.
- Question and Answer Session.
